Chicken is a popular and important food poultry;
however, little is known about the intestinal microbiota
and metabolite differences between Xizang chicken (LH)
and flat area chicken (ZJ). Hence, we performed this
study to compare the microbiota structure and
metabolites of chicken from different altitudes via
multi-omics sequencing. Results showed that there were
567 614 filtered sequences in bacterial microbiota and
610 966 filtered sequences in fungal microbiota. The
indexes of Pieloue (P<0.05) and Simpson (P<0.05) in
bacterial microbiota of the LH group were significantly
higher than those in ZJ group. Bacteria biomarkers of
Ezakiella, Peptococcus, Faecalicoccus,
Limosilactobacillus, Ligilactobacillus,
Clostridium T, Akkermansia and fungi
biomarker of Pichia were found between the two
chicken groups.There were 260 differential
metabolites discovered between higher and lower altitude
chickens. Our results may give novel insights into
future Xizang chicken breeding and understanding their
plateau adaptability.
